Your first year of hosting, domain, and SSL is included free with every website package. After that, most of our clients move to our Renewal Plan — but it's fair to ask exactly what you're paying for each year. Here's a plain-English breakdown.
These three keep your website online, secure, and accessible at all. Domains and SSL certificates expire annually, and hosting is an ongoing cost — the Renewal Plan bundles all three so you never have to track renewal dates yourself.
We actively monitor your website for security issues and downtime. If something goes wrong — your site goes down, or shows signs of being compromised — we're already watching for it, rather than you finding out from a customer who couldn't reach you.
Every month, a fresh backup of your website is taken and stored securely. If anything ever needs to be restored, we have a recent version ready to go, rather than starting from scratch.
Browsers update constantly, and what renders perfectly today can occasionally break after an update months later. We periodically check that your site still looks and works correctly across major browsers and devices.
If something isn't working as expected — a broken link, a display glitch after a browser update, a question about your hosting — general technical support is included, without needing to pay per request each time. Individually, each of these is a small task. Together, they're exactly the kind of thing that gets forgotten until it becomes a real problem — an expired domain taking your site offline, or a security issue going unnoticed for weeks. The Renewal Plan exists so none of that falls on you.
